Business: Gana Unnayan Kendra (GUK), a community-led nongovernment organization was established in 1985 in the Gaibandha district. Presently Gana Unnayan Kendra (GUK) has been working in Gaibandha, Rangpur, Nilphamari, Kurigram, Dinajpur, Bogra, Joypurhat, Kushtia, Panchagarh, and Lalmonirhat districts. The organization has gained well reputation and achieved notable changes in development, particularly in the area of Livelihood Improvement, Education for Children, Gender Equality, Women Empowerment, Human Rights, and Disaster Risk Reduction & Climate change through various development projects. Over the period of time, altogether approximately 45,000 families came out from extreme poverty situations through financial and technical support of GUK. Besides, approximately 120,000 families are directly involved at present in different interventions of the organization.

Mission:
Inspired by the credo “Release not Relief”, GUK works with and for poor, extremely poor, vulnerable, excluded, and all other disadvantaged groups of people especially women, children, ethnic groups, and people with disabilities to bring about a sustainable positive change in their lives.
