Organization for the Poor Community Advancement (OPCA) is a local voluntary, non-profitable, non-political and development organization in Bangladesh. It is located in naturally most resourceful and beautiful place, Mirsarai Upazila under Chittagong district. Sometimes unexpected natural disaster such as cyclone, heavy rainfall, tidal surge and flash flood interrupts normal civic life damaging houses, crops and livestock’s of the lower income people and compel them to lead a miserable life. Considering the predicament of the people caused by the cyclone and devastating tidal surge of 1991, Mr. Alamgir, a native of Mirsarai Upazila was shocked and thought seriously about how to help the ill-fated poor people and mitigate their sufferings. He convened a meeting, inviting the energetic youths of the locality, and expressed his willingness to form a local organization to redress the miseries of these poor. He also opined that it is the prime responsibility of the young generation to serve humanity. Then a group of young, active, and enthusiastic youth came forward and joined hands with Mr. Alamgir and formed an organization. The self-less dedication, efforts, and indomitable courage is the outcome of present OPCA and thus OPCA came into being on November 14, 1992.

Capacity strengthening of the ethnic minority, Rohingya Community, People with disability, Urban Poor, Coastal people and Tea Garden laborers for improve livelihoods and raise voices for their entitlement. To implement need based, result oriented and rights based development programs.
