Our honorable chairman Mr. Mohammed Mohsin is a qualified engineer having an advanced engineering degree from the USA. In addition to a large group of skilled workers and technicians, we have a number of trained and experienced chemists and metallurgists (from home & abroad) in our organization.
High powered Electric Arc Furnace with Water Cooled Roof, Shell Panels, and SCR controlled electrode regulator, utilizing the foamy slag practice; Oxy-Fuel Burners; features which no other company in Bangladesh can match. Commissioned in 1987.
The country’s First continuous casting machine (4M Radius Strand) by COMCAST of Switzerland guarantees billet properties conforming to international standers of steel billet exporting nations, Indonesia, ROK, Turkey, Brazil and international standards such as AISI, BS, JIS etc. Commissioned in 1986.
A totally automated 16 stand Bar and structural Mill which produces 6 mm wire rods up to 250 Kg coils, bars up to 60 mm Dia and Angles up to 4" X 4" with dimensional tolerance exceeding the requirements of JIS, BS, ASTM & other international codes. An Ashlow UK Make Laying head pouring coiler & an automated cooling bed complement the rolling mill. Temperature controlled Reheating Furnace utilizes North American combustion equipment. Commissioned in 1988.
Ladle Treatment through LADLE Furnace for extensive degassing and temperature Homogeneity to ensure very low inclusion content in steel guarantees billets of sound homogeneous and defect-free internal structure. This is aided by Argon & Nitrogen Gas Bubbling.
A 33 KV 7.5 Megawatt power substation 2 High-pressure Natural Gas Metering stations and a battery of captive natural gas-powered generators represents an energy infrastructure investment unparalleled in any private sector project in Bangladesh. Quality Control at every stage, from raw material selection, steel making billet casting to final hot rolling and grading of rolled products is assured by a trained professional staff of chemists and metallurgists. Mill products meet the statistical attributes of B4449 of 1988. Low carbon wire products down to SWG 24 from our billets are another tribute to successful quality control. Quality control management introduced in 1987.
Element analysis of Carbon, Manganese, Silicon, Phosphorous and Sulphur for every furnace heat ensures uniform properties and close tolerance in chemical composition. Elaborate physical testing of finished products for yield, tensile and plastic properties complement the chemistry effort. Country’s First Spectrometer of ARL Switzerland makes with 22 channels & Nitrogen content of steel.
Several throttle expansion oxygen plants and others adiabatic expander of 300 M3 / H plant making high purity (99.5% min.) Oxygen Gas for both steel making use and bottled distribution to consumers. Two totally automatic hoppers fed thermally and hydraulically controlled Acetylene Gas Generators and four strand filling stations. Commissioned in 1988. Bigger and more efficient Plants to produce Oxygen & Nitrogen both gaseous & liquid has been installed.
Two 9 Ton capacity induction Furnace powered by 4000 KW Transformer. These furnaces complement the existing production facility.
