Bangladesh Institute of Capital Market (BICM) is the national institution established, on 24 July 2008, for spreading education, imparting training and conducting research activities for Bangladesh capital market. The Institute is fully funded by the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and the Government approved organogram of the Institute in 2010 and compensation structure for the Institute in 2013.  The policy direction of the Institute is given by a Board of Directors chaired by the Chairman, Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) and members with a wide range of expertise representing cross section of stakeholders, Government, Commission, Academia, Exchanges, key market intermediaries and different professional bodies.  The Honorable Minister, Ministry of Finance, Mr. Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, inaugurated academic activities of the Institute on 09 December 2010. Establishment of the Institute has materialized a long felt demand of market intermediaries, exchanges, stakeholders and development partners to have a national capital market institution for capacity building of the investors, market intermediaries and other stakeholders of Bangladesh capital market.  

BICM’s core purpose is to bridge the gap between the current level of knowledge, skills and competency of Bangladesh capital market participants and the level required for participants in a world class capital market.
